Research and development
In this area the main research and development activities carried on by Fiat Group in terms of environmental sustainability and more significant results achieved so far.
The environmental protection is a key point in the business management of Fiat Group and it is also the main issue taken into account in several projects. As a matter of fact, it is common practice using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate, along the whole life cycle, the environmental impacts of several solutions in terms of materials/processes, with the aim of ensuring the eco-compatibility.
In the Group, the strong participation, in the research perspective, is assurance by the involvement of specific Sectors and of Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF), as a representative of the Group, in projects and at discussions in the most important round tables.

The goal of the project is realizing specific products in different industrial sectors starting from specific flows of post-consumed materials and adding natural fibers from forest resources.
Reciplast Project
The aim of the project is the development of processes of separation, recycling and enhancement of those fractions of post-consumer and industrial waste that today present critical issues in their capacity for recyclability and reuse.
